MEL script with a UI to duplicate groups/objects along a curve. The curve shape, location, scale etc as well as the pillar height and tilt value's are all interactive after creation.
Copy both files into your <MayaDir>/scripts/ folder.
Run ROG_public.mel (drag and drop into maya / source the script).
Just build your single piece in the centre of the scene, and put all of the geometry and nurbs curves into a single group. Select your curve, shift/ctrl-select the group and click duplicate along curve. If you need track beams, include the outline of the beams in the group when you duplicate it. After creating your duplicates, just select the control node and hit the 'create beams' preset.
Originally developed to easily create rollercoaster / railroad tracks along any curve.
Still a work in progress, if you have any feedback/questions/suggestions/bugs then let me know.
Should work in all versions of Maya.
Free for non-commercial use, please donate via paypal if you are using this script for a commercial project. (see email address above)
