What is TD-College?

TD-College is the first and only
school that truly prepares the students for the realm of CG-production
by personally pairing each student up with the artists behind movies
like The Lord of The Rings, Spiderman, The Matrix and many more.
TD-College’s personalized mentor system  puts each student 1-on-1 with
experienced artists from major studios like ILM, Imageworks, Disney and
Digital Domain.

TD-College’s intense, production-based
curriculum is designed by battle-hardened industry veterans and is
based on years of experience in the high-end visual effects industry.
Advanced courses (so called “Production Techniques”) explain in detail
how a specific shot in a movie was created, which problems were
encountered and how they were solved. All course material consists of
detailed and illustrated notes, an accompanying video and personal, live, 1-on-1 interaction with mentors. All our mentors are active professionals and have at least 5 years of feature film experience. TD-College’s mentors credits include all blockbusters in recent memory.

Our individual courses
are for those individuals who are looking to expand their skillset in
specific areas or for artists looking to become savvier on the
technical side of CG production. Individual courses are 6 weeks long
and anyone can enroll, providing they have met the pre-requirements for
that course.  Students can enroll any time of the year, because
TD-College offers
courses on a constant basis and does not follow typical academic cycles
like quarters or semesters.

The TD-College online experience
consists of a sprawling community that closely mimics the production
environment. Some of its features include: a dailies system with
instant supervisor/mentor feedback, weekly Q&A sessions and
assignment-based deadlines.

In short, TD-College offers CG
education with REAL production value, based around a
production-designed curriculum, a personal mentor system and an online
production environment.

What makes TD-College (TDC) different from other colleges and online schools?

Four  major differences separate TDC from other learning institutions.

(1) Our course material. TD-College’s curriculum has been engineered by
industry veterans and is based on years of experience in the high-end
CG industry. Our courses  have real production value, because they are written by people who are in production, about
production. TD-College do not offer DVD’s that quickly browse over
attributes; instead we offer applicable, real-world courses that show
how the tools really are used in high-end VFX production. TD-College
does not offer demo-perfect tutorials where everything
magically works, because real production is never like that. We offer
hard-core, real-life techniques that go beyond the ability of the
standard, off-the-shelf tools.  We offer courses that violently shatter
the out-of-the-box software. All this, so we can show the student how
to patch it up and make it work anyway, because that is what production
is
really about.

(2) Our method of teaching. At TD-College,  we use a personal mentor system.
This system pairs our students with their mentors providing 1-on-1
interaction, feedback and critique. This means that each individual
student will receive personal training from artists from major studios like  ILM, Imageworks, Disney and Digital Domain.
Aside from scheduled classes, Q&A and 1-on-1 sessions, mentors are
readily available to answer any questions the student might have; and will
hence personally guide the student through the entire learning process.

(3) Our mentors.
TD-College’s mentors are handpicked, active
professionals working in the high-end CG industry. All our mentors
have at least 5 years experience in the feature film ndustry
and played leading roles in recent blockbusters such as Spiderman,
Bolt, Watchmen, Batman Begins, Monsters versus Aliens and many more.
Very few
(if any) universities and/or animation schools have a staff with an
impressive resume like ours.

(4) TD-College is completely online,
yet offers personal interaction with mentors and fellow-students. This
means: no relocation costs, no commuting, no additional rent. You can
participate in all our courses from in the comfort of your own living
room, no matter where in the world your are located; and yet have
personal interaction with the top-talent from studios VFX centers like
Hollywood and London.
