I must thank Davvey for sharing this with me, there are few others that deserve credit,  their names are in the downloaded script file.

If you download a lot of scripts this is a goodie...your script folder pops up inside Maya as a drop-down:
download these scripts:DVY_menu.zip

Put the DVY_ScriptMenu.mel script in the same folder as the userSetup file and the Source_DVY_ScriptMenus.mel in the root of the scripts folder. If you want you can change the script names can amened any lines in the scripts that call them.

Right-click on your userSetup.mel open it with notepad and add the line:

DVY_ScriptMenu;

If you want to store your scrips elsewhere
then amend Line No. 186 in DVY_VehicleMenu.mel:

/    string $rootFolder = (`internalVar -userAppDir` + "Scripts/");

    //    to get the script directory
    //    FEEL FREE TO CHANGE THIS VARIABLE TO ANY PATH WHERE YOU KEEP MEL SCRIPTS
    //    EXAMPLE 1: string $rootFolder = (`internalVar -userScriptDir` + "myFolder/");
    //    Don't forget the forward slash at the end of the path

Restart Maya and all your scripts in your own folders and sub-folders will be found in a drop-down menu

just
