After months of development, Boolieman beta is now available exclusively through Creative Crash!
What is the Boolieman Rig? Well, put simply, it's a basic character rig for Maya which is built to behave and render just like clay. Boolieman is made up of three custom boolean primitives, that means the entire body acts as one mass of putty. Besides standard IK / FK animation controls, Boolieman goes further - you can scale and separate any part of his body, you can reconfigure Boolieman to take on new proportions, you can take him apart and resculpt him, the posibilities are as limitless as molding a real lump of clay.

This is the Beta release of Boolieman, I sincerely hope to get all of your feedback and suggestions for future free rig updates. In time Boolieman will be out of beta, and I'll add some features such as hair, a mouth and other improvements. For now, Boolieman is as he appears, a no nonsense biped character.
By the very nature of his construction, Boolieman is un-UVable - but you can change his color easilly through the main coin RGB sliders.
Some applications for this rig are:
- Animation tests
- Creating a diversity of low resolution characters
- General Fun
The file comes with Boolieman and the three custom primitives: BoolieBall, BooliePeg and BoolieBod as seperate Maya files. There is also a manual in PDF form with instructions and a list of known issues and solutions.
