Hello, how do you use this shader on a shattered object? I tried applying it but there's no transparency showing after I render it.
Just thought i would post this for all the noob students like myself. :)
I have a project with glass flasks in a rather dark environment and was having lots of trouble getting this shader to look right.
It was showing up black in portions.... thought it was the lighting all along.....
turns out i just had the Refractions set too low in MR settings. i raised it to around 5 and wooooooo, quick render time too! Experiment with your Max trace depth and refractions , i just kept playing till it was as low as i could go and it still looked right.

This shader has brought new life to a project file I have been playing with, thanks a lot for sharing it! With final gather accuracy high and a nice bit of lighting this texture is one of the best i've used! Keep up the good work!

Amazing shader! only one problem, I cannot figure out how to allow glow effects to pass through. If anyone knows a fix, please send me a PM and let me know thanks. Otherwise AWESOME shader
It sounds excellent but I'm having trouble with it, which is most likely due to my newbieness. None of the readme links work on creativecrash for one, so that doesn't help. Anyway, I apply the blinn material to what I want to be glass, but in the render it always seems to have strange lines/abrupt shadows to the things behind it. Can anyone help a sister out?

Q: how to this file use ?>> A: hypershade window(in maya)> file > import ( file name: glassV2_5.ma)
05/21/12 and readme is still not working. I imported it in hypershade to no effect. Correction/Update: Shader appears with shaders used in the scene rather than the library! Thanks! I'll test it in MR now on Maya 2013.
