Introduction
MELProtector is a plug-in which can hide the content of MEL and Python scripts and prevent others from seeing the script's actual code.
It can be useful for protecting proprietary scripts which need to be distributed or for selling scripts without requiring the development of a plug-in. MELProtector allows developers to hide their code while enabling users to run it freely.
MELProtector incorporates a special compilation process which prevents the code from being visible.
This plug-in is also required in order to run the scripts on the target machines.
Limitations
1. Windows Maya 2008, 2009(32, 64-bit), 2010(32, 64), 2011(32, 64), 2012 SP1(32, 64) and 2013 (32, 64) are supported.
2. Mac support is available only for Maya 2012 and 2013.
3. Python protection works only on Maya 2012 and 2013 (32, 64) for Windows.
