This tool allows the user to select faces, run the tool the be left with the relevant selection of uvs ready to be moved. It makes editing the uvs a much much simpler process.

To Use:

Select the faces that represent the area of UV's that you wish to pull away
Execute MEL in script editor.

Result:

This will leave the user with the UV's selected and ready to be moved.
