Reelcams creates a rig in your scene to make realistic boom and jib camera moves.  The operation is pretty simple and straightforward (I hope, let me know if you have any issues).

Directions are in README, but for the exceptionally lazy (which I tend to be myself):

Instructions:
        unzip the .zip to your scripts directory (probably in ~/MAYA/scripts or ~/maya/**year**/scripts )
        import reelCams.reelCam_rigs
        reelCams.reelCam_rigs.jibRig() #for a jib rig
        reelCams.reelCam_rigs.boomRig() #for a boom rig
