This script allows users separate your custom models piece by piece with one button.
More faces you have,more time it gonna take.Then change their scales easily.
After that,you can convert them into particle instancers or rigid bodies or whatever for some special effects.

Install:
Unzip it
Copy SeparatoR v1.0.1.py to \Documents\maya\2012(or 2011 or ....)-x64(or x32)\scripts
