This is a model of the famous East Façade of Buckingham Palace, home of Queen Elizabeth II. Designed by Edward Blore, the East Wing was actually a later addition to the palace in the 1860’s to accommodate the growing Royal Family. The original palace was designed by John Nash in 1826. The design included ‘Marble Arch’ (also available from Turbo Squid), as the triumphal entrance to the palace court, which, in 1851 was moved to it present position to allow for the building of the East Wing.
