Are getting this everytime you run the software, or just occassionally during a long session. If the later, it's probably just due to the software being new.

I'd save often especially when trying out a new feature.

I'd try support, they are great at solving these problems. You could probably find some help on their customer web page too.
The only thing I can think of is:
Try not to have more than one softimage.lic file in you license directory.

Make a subdirectory for backup licenses etc. I have descovered that the FlexLM will sometimes read other files that have similar names.

Are you up to atleast Service Pack 4 on NT?

I've also got a GA-6BXD, running dual P3 500's and NT4 sp5. XSI runs fine on my system but be warned, most Gigabyte motherboards are absolute crap for graphics. For instance, there's no way to change the AGP aperture size on the GA-6BXD, making it difficult to run any graphics intensive apps or games. The GA-6BXD also has numerous problems with Win2K, especially in conjunction with dual cpu's, so you better update to the latest BIOS (F3a I think) as soon as possible. Also don't expect any help from Gigabyte tech support because you wont get any. They have possibly the worst support I have ever come across, they don't even bother to answer their own email.Oh, and remember that Soft doesn't like SP6 on NT although I have no idea if XSI does or not, so if you are using it you may want to check that out.
