Why would you use a light for this*? What wrog with using geometry?
* just because something is named after a real world effect does not mean the simulation IS THAT EFFECT, so any other way to achive the same effect in a simulation is equally good way to achieve it.
oh ok, so just use geometry, would you map a movie node onto the colour of a dialetric material for the texture of light beams?
Well i would use a surface shader, and 3d noise multiplied by a v ramp and some nice rays forma second ramp or 2. But sure why not.
Hi jooja, i managed to get the tron laser lighting to work in after effects but it looks a bit flat. How would i do it in maya i've tried creating a glass plane but i can't figure out how to get the images sequence reflected in it, in fact i can't seem to illuminate the glass at all, i've tried dialetric and a mia material glass with spotlight but can't get any reflections or illumination at all. i need to know what node to plug in the texture for reflection?
