hello all
i install maya 8 in fedora core 6
but when i run it , it display one error in the script editor, the error is:

"Error : Could not create command port : commandportDefault"

i have already installed ati fglrx and disable SElinux.
anyone have an idea what is the problem?

Its should not be a significant error, its just because -securityWarning is put on to aport that may or may not be enabled.

same thing happened to me, Am running Maya on windows XP 34 bit , and what did annoy me that when I hold pressing the space bar hot box menu not show up and it keep shifing me between my camera view.
I tried every thing even uninstalling maya and reinstall it again but nothing changes.
what is strange about this issue is that it also happened on other maya versions that already installed on my machine (maya 8.0 - maya 7.0).
any hero can help in?
