Hi All,


I have another problem with maya and ubuntu . I installed Maya 2009 in Ubuntu 10.04 , and when i am trying start Maya I am getting this error

And i am using getlibs to find any missing libs but it says “This application isn’t missing any dependencies”

ati has consistantly had crappy opengl drivers for windows/linux since the beginning of time.  Except for mac's where apple makes the drivers, it is always suggested that you buy an nvidia card over an ati card unless your playing games or using other non opengl applications.

Search around for maybe specific driver versions which work better with maya but I personally wouldn't hold my breath.

The problem here is not ATI, the newer drivers are actually getting better and quite usable.

Ubuntu 10.xx, Fedora 12 have a new version of X Input 2.0   Which Maya pre-2011 doesn't recognize properly and gets into a partially initialized state.

there is a updated Maya 2009 sp1/2010 patch release available from support that corrects this.   Talk to support to obtain the update.   you are on subscription correct.

Deke you are right , but as warnold told they are improved a lot . anyway thanks guys for you info and warnold its a super hint and i will try to get a update , if its there in the update center else GK

PS : Tried this SP1 but no luck
