Grome 1.1, Landscape and Level Modeler, Released
Grome 1.1 Version Released
Since its commercial release,
6 months ago, Grome was widely adopted by professional game studios as a
valuable tool inside the game production pipelines. Used in AAA game titles for
consoles and PC, by well known studios like Ubisoft and Eidos and in 3D
simulation software by companies like Saab Bofors Dynamics and IFAD TS, Grome
proved itself as an easy to learn tool that increases user creativity and
productivity.
We are very satisfied with the
current development status of our Grome editing platform. Seeing it being
successfully used in big production games by well known studios is something
that really makes us proud. Our clients feedback from real world production
scenarios had a great impact on our current and future development. Grome is a mature
product, ready to be used in big commercial productions. said Adrian
Licuriceanu, Quad Software Technical Director in charge of Grome development.
Our goal was to create an
application that it is flexible enough for any type of game and engine. In the
end weve produced Grome, which represents a first in the way it combines
terrain editing at brush level and procedural generation. As an artist, its
current editing features and layering system, makes me think we reached our
initial goal: a truly flexible and creative tool for all to use, adds Mihai
Daranga, Lead Artist Quad Software.
New Grome version improves on
the original release with new features, optimizations and new graphical assets
libraries. More to be found on the product home page.
